One of the most talked-about highlights of the fair was the performance of our 5-axis waterjet technology in processing materials for the defense industry. As is well known, when cutting materials such as armor steel, titanium alloys, and ballistic composites with heat-based methods like laser or plasma, a Heat-Affected Zone (HAZ) is formed. This compromises the material’s structural integrity and ballistic resistance.
In contrast, Robjet’s cold-cutting technology processes materials at nearly 0 °C with micron-level precision. At our booth, we demonstrated live how our 5-axis systems can complete even the most complex 3D military components in a single clamping—without any post-processing such as grinding or polishing.
